Investigating a SPAM problem?
I seem to be the victim of a SPAM Attack. It seems that un-solicited email is
being sent from addresses associated to this site, despite being the owner/
administrator for this domain, I am not reponsible for this SPAM.
I am currently investigating ways of dealing with this problem but have not yet
discovered a solution. I have not been able to identify a single source (IP
address) for this SPAM at this time, it seems to be coming from a variety of
sources and email addresses of the form ****_at_wombatz.co.uk. There are a range
of topics and attacments to these emails, some of which are completely
incoherent. They are not due to a virus on my machines as the first messages
seem to have been sent out whilst my machines were all turned off. The messages
are not being sent to email addresses that have any connection with me or my on-
line activities. One suggestion is that this is a so-called Joe Job.
I am not aware of having done anything to provoke this activity.
Follow this
link to read more about Joe Jobs and the only possible ways of dealing with
them. This is a very discomforting and inconvenient experience, and I ask for
your understanding in this matter.
I can only apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you through
unsolicited email, but please believe me when I say that I am in no way
responsible for this activity. I hope that this ceases soon.
